YELM AREA MEETINGS & CIVIC HAPPENINGS

1. CITY OF YELM PUBLIC HEARING MONDAY ON TRANSPORTATION PLAN UPDATE
Public Hearing - 2009 Transportation Plan Update
"Comprehensive Plan Update:
The City of Yelm is updating its Comprehensive Plan this year to include updates to two maps. The 20 year transportation map, and the trail and bike map. The transportation map includes projects planned over the next 20 years. The new map shows reconstructions, new connections and other projects planned. Adoption will bring the transportation project map up to date making use of the latest available information. The trail and bicycle map is proposed to be updated to reflect the recent completion of the rail trail to the Yelm City limit line. The proposal is to delete the existing maps and add the new maps. The Yelm Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 6:00 pm at the Yelm Public Safety Building to receive public comment on the maps," quoting the city's website.
[Ed. Note: my, how convenient for the public -- during the evening rush-hour and the start of most people's dinner hour! This timing demonstrates the city is not really interested in public input.]
