this is such an important topic. thank you, yet again, for your work in spreading information. we have two animals left in our neighborhood. we found a home for one so far. it is very sad. my camp is over capacity w/ five animals in our little house as is or i would take more. i will spread the word to neighbors to open their hearts for our furry friends and companions. thanks again steve for all that you do for yelm.

Something needs to be done for the poor dogs that get stuck in the Yelm dog pound. It's cold, dirty, wet and the cages are too small. The Animal Control does not offer or allow any rescue service, foster service or vet care for injured animals. If a dog is not claimed or adopted by the end of the legal holding period it is sent to Olympia where it is destroyed. AND FOLKS, THERE ARE NO SIGNS IN YELM THAT SAY DOG POUND. SO HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND YOUR LOST DOG!?
Let's step up to the plate for the pets in the Yelm shelter! All we ask for is some caring compassionate people in charge of the shelter. Someone who will understand that a 4X4/4X5 cell that is wet and cold is not appropriate for a lost family member. Even if a pet is dumped by a heartless owner, does that give us the right to sign his death sentence? For those interested in helping the lost or discarded pets of Yelm, we need you! If we work together, we can bring about a great future for Yelm shelter and the pet citizens of Yelm.
